Northampton Saints forward Tom Wood has urged his side to end their wait for silverware by trying to win both of the competitions that they have reached the finals of. Their last success came in 2010 when they lifted the LV=Cup, but that victory would pale in comparison should Northampton win the Amlin Challenge Cup and the Aviva Premiership over the next two weeks. Saints take on Bath in Europe’s second-tier competition on Friday, before going head-to-head with Saracens in the showpiece event of the Premiership campaign, with Northampton 11/8 with bet365 to claim the domestic title. England international flanker Wood said: “We want to win both competitions, we’ll go full ball at them and I think that we’ve got the resources in the squad to do it. “You only have to look at the quality of our bench and the quality of the guys that didn’t make the 23 against Leicester in the Premiership semi-final. “I really feel that we owe our fans here some silverware.”
