In Snooker News, Ronnie O’Sullivan believes that he can learn from his early exit at the Players Championship in Preston. The world number one slumped to a shock 4-3 loss to Yu Delu in the last-16 stage of the tournament. O’Sullivan has won the Masters and the Welsh Open this year and is 11/8 with bet365 to win next month’s World Championship in Sheffield, but was below-par against an inspired Yu. “Sometimes a defeat can do you good because I can knuckle down now and get my game into shape,” said O’Sullivan. “I started slowly here and it cost me.” Yu plays Barry Hawkins, 6/1 to win the Players Championship outright, in the last eight.
